My day started out rough. I thought my transmission ate itself on my way to work. Turned out I just stripped out an axle yoke. Much cheaper fix.

Thanks. I got a thumbs up from a guy at a custom car fab place on the way back to me house.

Putting down too many horses for the yoke?

I think it was the original and it just wore out until it slipped. It's only about a 110 hp engine.

There's a spindle on the other side of the yoke that goes in the transmission, then the axle fits into the pictured part of the yoke. It's a swing axle so it uses a universal joint at the yoke instead of a cv joint.

Yeah. It looks to be original. It somehow slipped out of the grooves and ate itself. It sounded horrible.
